«Las circunstancias» fue mi primer cortometraje. Hay a quienes no les gusta mostrar su primer trabajo, supongo que por miedo al qué dirán. A mí me gusta mostrarlo porque es un trabajo lleno de ilusión y de empuje, no sólo mío sino del equipo, incluyendo a los tres magníficos actores y mejores seres humanos que formaron parte del reparto: Fanny Condado, Alberto de Miguel y María Ángeles Acevedo. Disfruté mucho haciéndolo, a pesar de que sabía que el resultado no iba a cumplir con mis expectativas porque no contábamos ni con la cámara adecuada ni con el equipo de sonido idóneo. Pero lo hice. Aun cuando el sonido y la imagen dejan mucho que desear. Las ganas que teníamos todos de hacerlo pudieron con todo lo demás. Eso sí, es un corto que no le gustó a casi nadie, qué le vamos a hacer. No puede uno acertar a la primera. Aciertos: el reparto y la dirección de actores. Errores: los flashbacks y los aspectos técnicos. 

«The circumstances» was my first short film. Some people do not like to show their first work. I suppose that it is because of their fear about what people might say. I like to show it because this is a work full of enthusiasm and drive. It was not only mine but also the team’s, including the three magnificent actors and great human beings. They were Fanny Condado, Alberto de Miguel, and María Ángeles Acevedo. I really enjoyed making it although I knew that the final result would not meet my expectations since we did not have the right camera or the appropriate sound equipment. But I did it. Even though the sound and the image were not good enough, we were looking forward to accomplishing it so that we could overcome any barrier. Besides that, almost nobody liked it. What else could I do? You can’t hit the bull’s-eye the first time you try. Rights: the cast and the actors direction. Wrongs: the flashbacks and the technical aspects.
